Mozambique

Since 2010, FC&L has invested in agricultural production in Southern Africa. Initially, the Group established itself in Northern Mozambique with two banana plantations and with sufficient land to expand the production of bananas.

Later, the plantations were changed into multi-crop farms, better suited to the weather conditions, and focused on producing food products, for the local market, including bananas.

FC&L Group has invested in additional two large multi-crop farms in Northern Mozambique. The Group has completed the construction of houses and infrastructure and established the production of bananas, cattle, goats, chicken, cashew, and various row crops for the local market.

The Group has also invested in teak plantations at both farms. The trees help mitigate the effects of Climate Change and add value to the land.

In 2015, FC&L, through a local subsidiary, purchased a cattle farm in the south of Mozambique with 1,000 heads of cattle. the company has invested in the repair of dams, fences, buildings, and infrastructure, including the drilling of new deep wells. The herd has been fully changed to the Boran breed which is exceptionally well suited to the local conditions and produces high-quality meat.

The Group provides employment for around 1,000 people in Mozambique. The majority comes from the  communities surrounding the farms.
